WHY?
Why? People always ask why? Why do that? Why put yourself through that?
Let me tell you why.
I do it to evolve. I do it to reach further out and deeper within. I do it to use what little talent I have to enjoy a larger life. I do it to find my own path, to speak my own lines, to dance to my own score. I do it to climb higher than they tell me there is air to breathe, to go beyond where they say the edge lies. I do it to tame something wild, to create something new.
I do it to become who I am.
I do it to make a mark. I do it to scrawl on the wall of life “I was here”. I do it so that, looking back; even I can scarcely believe it was done. I do it to remember myself. I do it to possess something less mortal than the fleeting life granted me.
I do it because I can.
I do it selfishly, but in the hope that it will enrich and inspire others. I do it to confound those who do not believe. I do it to become self- reliant but have been humbled by the help and kindness of others. I do it to glorify the mundane. I do it believing there is more to life.
But mostly, I just do it.
